Helen Stimson, Executive in Residence at University of Delaware will discuss The Confidence Gap – What Every Professional Woman Needs to Know. Ever find yourself feeling less than confident or like an imposter in your role? You aren’t alone. This is a very feminine issue that is experienced by many highly trained and top performing women. Through transformational leaders, followers are able to be inspired to change their expectations, perceptions, and motivations in order to work together to accomplish common goals.
Transformational leaders garner trust, respect, and admiration from their followers. These transformational leadership qualities describe women more than men. STEM women have the innate ability to form and nurture business partnerships, key to the life sciences marketplace. Thus, women in STEM must lead now. One of the most impactful exercises of this presentation is when participants share what it’s like to work for a transformational leader. Hearing from peers inspires those who want to lead transformationally. Participants leave with a transformational leadership skills self- assessment.
